The North Queensland Sports Foundation celebrates 30 years of promoting and developing sport at the grass root level across North Queensland. The Foundation formed in 1983 is well known for the RACQ Insurance North Queensland Games event which was first held in 1984 in Townsville.
“Athlete of the Century” Dawn Fraser was the first Games Ambassador in Townsville. The North Queensland Sports Foundation will celebrate its anniversary on 27 September at a Gala Dinner to be held at Jupiters Hotel and Casino Townsville at which Dawn will again be Guest of Honour.
Joining Dawn on stage will be World Champion triathlete Brad Beven along with Host for the evening Benny Pike.
The night will be a celebration of all the activities which have made the Foundation such an important contributor to the development of sport in North Queensland. There is also a major announcement planned for the evening.
Tickets for the evening can be purchased from www.townsvilletickets.com.au and include dinner, pre-dinner drinks and plenty of great entertainment.
