The 2020 NQ Games will be hosted in Townsville by the Townsville City Council from  10 – 13 April.

The North Queensland Sports Foundation (NQSF) was formed in 1983 and delivered the inaugural North Queensland (NQ) Games in Townsville in 1984. The biennial event is shared between Townsville, Cairns and Mackay. It is the largest run multi-sport event in regional Australia. The 2020 NQ Games will play host to over 3,600 athletes from 30 sports.

Sporting associations across the Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers and Hinchinbrook are invited to host competitions in Townsville as part of the 2020 NQ Games. The event will provide opportunities:

  • for our NQ Games Corporate Partners to maximize their exposure in North Queensland;
  • for sporting associations to showcase their sports; and
  • for Townsville to promote the region.
