Since 1983 we’ve been active from the Torres Strait, down through to Sarina, West out to the Boarder and everywhere in between promoting and supporting sport and active recreation to improve the health and liveability of our ~25 Local Government Area Councils
Since being founded as a non-profit in 1983 we’ve been involved in too many initiatives to count! Currently, we put a heavy focus into our four pillar projects:
Like a mini Olympics! Held every 2 years since 1984, we bring the NQ Games, it's competitors, stakeholders and sponsors to a different regional town every cycle. The Games promotes both grassroots participation, and regional competitiveness to foster sporting growth.
Established 1991, and the longest running annual sports awards in regional Queensland, we bring an annual gala event to a different town every year to celebrate sporting achievements in categories including youth, masters, coaching, team success and more!
Initially a partnership between ourselves, the NQPHN and the WQPHN, we directly invested $1 Million Dollars of fund into regional service providers to enable 5,200 free sports and recreation classes or events between 2018 and 2024. From 2025, we're launching the MINQ app which will allow communities to link to their local sports clubs and available activities, with the power of AI.
As custodians of the NQ Sports Hall of Fame, we have the privilege of inducting worthy athletes, coaches and administrators into legend.
